About Me

sand background.png

I didn't come to this work from the outside.

My path into clinical work was shaped by my own experiences with an eating disorder and chronic illness — which means I understand from the inside what it feels like to navigate a body that doesn't cooperate, to fight for answers from a medical system that doesn't always listen, and to do the hard work of rebuilding a relationship with yourself when everything feels uncertain.

That experience doesn't make me your therapist because I've been there. It makes me a better therapist because I know what it actually takes — and what genuinely helps versus what just sounds good in theory.

My Background

I've been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years. My clinical career has included directing PHP and IOP programs, serving in clinical leadership roles, and working with some of the most complex presentations in our field. I'm licensed in North Carolina, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, and I'm a Medicare provider and certified clinical supervisor.

Over time my focus has shifted toward the work that I find most meaningful — adults navigating chronic and invisible illness, trauma, eating disorders in midlife, and the kind of life complexity that doesn't fit neatly into a diagnostic category. These are people who have often been dismissed, misunderstood, or handed treatment that wasn't designed with their whole life in mind.

I think they deserve better. That's who I built this practice for.

How I Work

Therapy with me is relational, direct, and collaborative. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I draw from multiple clinical approaches and tailor the work to what actually fits you, your history, and what you're trying to build.

I'm not going to tell you what to feel or hand you a worksheet and call it progress. I'm going to get to know you as a whole person, take your experience seriously, and work alongside you honestly, and at a pace that makes sense.

I also offer clinical supervision for licensed clinicians seeking a supervisor with real-world experience across complex clinical settings. I take supervision seriously as a practice in its own right not just case consultation, but genuine professional development.

Outside the Office

I live in North Carolina, where I'm happily making a home after years in New England. I start most mornings with a mindful walk, which, if you know anything about the relationship between movement and mental health, feels like a pretty good way to begin the day. I also find joy in creating things with my hands, particularly things that serve as tangible touchpoints for recovery and healing. It turns out the work doesn't always happen in a therapy room.
